The Basic Facts
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill animal rescue/shelter outside Chipley, Florida. Our animals come from abused/neglectful homes, or were literally dumped at our
gate.
We began with a couple of dumped beagles, in sad shape, about 1996, and have increasingly expanded over the years.
We have several dogs, and a few cats, who due to various issues, usually related to their past mistreatments, have come home to us, to live forever. Our goal is to have "virtual" adoptive
families for each of our lifetime animals, to help free up resources so we can help even more animals.
Naturally, our goal for the many animals we have that CAN be adopted, is to help to locate THE forever home they've been waiting for.
Want to Know More?
We are located in what is jokingly, but truthfully, called the "Florida Mountains". Our organization has a wonderful benefactor, who allows us to make our home on a 50
acre organic gourd farm.
Merry Angel Farm, while having basically no crops the past couple years, due to hurricane and related storm damages, produces organic gourds of dozens of varieties. They are then dried,
and various gourd artwork is created from them, all original one of a kind pieces of work.
We have 3 volunteers, who not only work here, but live here as well. This ensures that there is someone on-site at all times. |

Solving Problems
While in the past, we've had moderately infrequent troubles, usually with hunters, the past few years we've had more common occurences of violence and vandalism.
This year, we've been fortunate enough to have some extra protection, in the form of video surveillance cameras, which were donated. However, we still greatly need more, as the ones
donated do not nearly cover enough of our facilities. If you have any cameras that work, that you aren't using, please contact us and we will gladly pay shipping for them, providing it
isn't too extravagant.
We've also had several large spotlights donated, which have helped a fair deal. Once again, however, we definately need more than we currently have. Our goal is to ensure that every
square inch where our animals are is capable of being thoroughly lit up as needed.
Any outdoor lights, and security equipment are greatly needed and if you can, please, donate a few dollars to help us with this. We appreciate every penny, for as we are very aware,
pennies make dollars, and every dollar brings us closer to meeting one of our needs, or another. |
